“Kokedama Forest”
Philadelphia Flower Show 2021

We worked with Nomad Studio for this incredibly unique, award-winning project. We fabricated the elaborate metal structure that held more than 1,200 handcrafted kokedama, which are balls of soil, covered with moss, growing ornamental plants.

We always want our work to feel like it has a story to tell, and this was an incredibly compelling way to communicate the importance of respecting the world around us, as well as underneath of us. The Nomad team's vision for melding natural sculptures with manmade structures in an immersive experience makes you truly feel that people, plants, and the earth we share all need each other to thrive.

The installation won multiple awards at the show, including the prestigious Gold Medal, Special Achievement Award for an exhibit of unusual excellence in creativity, and the Governor’s Trophy for the most innovative and unique design. It was also nominated for ArchDaily Building of the Year in the Small Scale & Installations category.
